Running for Swifts and House Martins: Tom Raises £535 for Cheltenham Action for Nature

A huge thank you to Tom Mabbett, who ran the Cheltenham Half Marathon this year in aid of Cheltenham Action for Nature – raising an amazing £535 so far.

And he didn’t just complete it – Tom ran the 13.1 miles in an impressive 1 hour, 39 minutes and 44 seconds. What a run!
Tom has been a supporter of Cheltenham Action for Nature from the beginning and was instrumental in helping to set up our Swift and House Martin Support Group, bringing people together to learn more about these much-loved summer visitors and how we can help them in Cheltenham.

So we’re particularly pleased that his fundraising will be supporting the birds he has already done so much to champion.
Turning a run into something for swifts and house martins
We’re now talking with Tom about how to use the money raised to make a practical difference, with a particular focus on supporting swifts and house martins when they return to Cheltenham next spring and summer.

We’ll share more about what we decide – and what the fundraising makes possible – as the plans take shape.
For now, we just want to say a huge thank you, Tom. £535 is a fantastic contribution, and we love the fact that all those miles are going to help make Cheltenham a better place for some of our most special summer visitors.

Still want to support Tom’s fundraiser?

The fundraising page is still open if you’d like to add to Tom’s total.
